Terms of Service for HomePlusDeals.Com
Please read these terms before using the site. They explain what you can do with our guides, where our responsibility ends, and why some jobs should always go to a qualified professional.
Last updated: July 15, 2026
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of HomePlusDeals.Com (the "Site"), an independent home improvement blog and deals guide operated by HomePlusDeals ("we", "us", "our"). By browsing the Site, reading an article or following a link from it, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Site.
Acceptance of these terms
Using the Site confirms that you have read these Terms and accept them, and that you are old enough to form a binding agreement where you live. If you are using the Site on behalf of a company or organisation, you confirm you have the authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.
These Terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers how we handle your data and includes the full detail on our affiliate relationships.
Using HomePlusDeals.Com
You may use the Site for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes — planning your own project, researching a purchase, saving an article, or sharing a link with a friend or a contractor. Plan it properly, compare with confidence, build it and save: that is what the whole thing is here for, and you are welcome to it.
You agree not to:
- Scrape, harvest or bulk-extract content by automated means — including for resale, republication or training a dataset or model — without our written permission
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its servers, or any account or system connected to it
- Interfere with the Site's operation, security or availability, or introduce malicious code
- Use the Site or its content to sell competing services, or to present our research as your own
- Misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with us
We may suspend or restrict access to the Site, in whole or in part, if we reasonably believe it is being misused.
Intellectual property
Everything published on HomePlusDeals.Com — articles, cost tables, photography, illustrations, the logo, and the design of the Site itself — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright, trademark and other laws.
You are welcome to link to any page, and to quote a short passage with clear attribution and a link back to the original article. You may not republish substantial portions of our work, mirror our pages, or reproduce our cost tables and comparisons elsewhere without written permission. If you would like to use something, just ask us — we are reasonable people.
Content is for information only
Our guides are general information for a general audience. They are not professional advice, and they cannot account for the condition of your home, your local rules or your particular circumstances.
Home improvement carries real risk. Tools, ladders, dust, water and electricity all hurt people every year. Before you start any job you find here:
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions for every tool, material and appliance — they override anything we write
- Check your local building codes, permit requirements and safety regulations before work begins, not after
- Use the correct protective equipment, and stop when a job moves beyond your skill or your kit
Some jobs always need a qualified professional
Electrical work, plumbing, gas, and anything structural. No exceptions and no shortcuts — these are the jobs where a mistake is measured in fires, floods, carbon monoxide or a wall that was holding something up. Our tutorials are written for the work a competent homeowner can safely do themselves; they are not a substitute for a licensed electrician, plumber, gas engineer, structural engineer or building inspector.
You are responsible for how you apply the information on this Site, including any decision to do a job yourself rather than hire someone.
Our cost bands are estimates, not quotes
We publish every room in three budget bands — Refresh, Mid-range and Full remodel — because that is more honest than a single number. They are indicative ranges drawn from real projects, and they are wide on purpose:
| Room | Refresh | Full remodel |
|---|---|---|
| Kitchen | $500–$2.5k | $25k–$60k+ |
| Bathroom | $300–$1.5k | $15k–$35k+ |
Your real cost will move with your region, your labour market, the condition of what is behind the walls, and the spec you choose. The same is true of the savings we cite — painting existing units instead of replacing them typically saves around 70%, but "typically" is doing real work in that sentence. Nothing in our room guides or anywhere else on the Site is a quote, an offer, or a guarantee of price. Always get written quotes from local trades before you commit.
Affiliate links & third-party sites
HomePlusDeals is reader-supported. Some links on the Site are affiliate links, and we may earn a small commission if you buy through them — at no extra cost to you, and it never changes what we recommend. We take no paid placements. The full disclosure lives in our Privacy Policy.
We only flag a discount when we believe it is genuinely below its usual floor, and a "was" price that was never really charged never makes our list. Even so, prices, stock and offers change constantly and without notice — timing is half the story, and tools tend to crash in spring while appliances fall in autumn. We cannot guarantee that any price, deal or product detail is still current or available when you click.
Links out to retailers, manufacturers and other websites are provided for convenience only. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, products, pricing, delivery, warranties or privacy practices. Your purchase is a contract between you and that seller, governed by their terms — please read them.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Site and all content on it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that any content, cost band, product recommendation or deal is complete, accurate, current or suitable for your project.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HomePlusDeals and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, savings, data, property, or damage to your home, arising out of or connected with your use of — or inability to use — the Site, its content, or anything you buy through a link on it.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms as the Site grows or the law changes. The revised version takes effect when we post it, and we will note the date of the latest revision on this page. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms, so it is worth a look now and then.
Governing law
These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which HomePlusDeals is established and operates, without regard to conflict of law rules. The courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where the law of your country of residence requires otherwise.
Nothing in this section removes or limits any mandatory consumer protection rights you have under the law of the country where you live. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
